Sharing a photo
- Only send a photo you took yourself. By sending it, you give Snowdon Walks permission to show it on this site, credited to the name or handle you give. You keep the copyright.
- Avoid photos where other people can be clearly recognised, unless they are happy to be shown.
- Every photo is checked by hand. Nothing is shown until it is approved, and we may decline any photo without giving a reason.
- You can ask for your photo to be removed at any time, using the "Suggest an improvement" form. Tell us your name and the photo's caption or path.
What we keep
- The photo, resized in your browser, and a small preview of it. Location (GPS) and camera data are removed in your browser and again on our server.
- Your first name or handle, the path, the date of your walk and your caption, if given. These are shown with the photo if it is approved.
- Your email, if given. It is never shown or shared, and is only used to tell you if your photo is featured.
- We do not store your IP address. A one-way code made from it is kept for up to two days to stop spam.
Suggestions
Suggestions are stored privately so we can read them. If you add an email, we only use it to reply about your suggestion.
How long we keep it
Declined photos are deleted. Approved photos stay on the site until you ask us to remove them, or we stop showing them.
